Private tours from Labuan Bajo
Sea of Dragons is a small, owner-run tour operator based in Labuan Bajo, the harbour town at the western tip of Flores and the gateway to Komodo National Park. We do one thing: private trips. Every tour runs on your own boat or in your own car with your own guide — no shared decks, no fixed itineraries, no waiting for strangers at the pier. Labuan Bajo sits an easy flight from Bali, and from its harbour the park opens up: dragons at Loh Liang and Loh Buaya, the saddle ridge on Padar, mantas drifting over Karang Makassar. Tell us your dates and how you like to travel; we plan it, quote it and run it ourselves.

Why travel with us
Nothing we sell is shared. The boat leaves when you are ready, lingers where you are happy, and skips what does not interest you. If the mantas are in and Padar can wait, we change the order that morning. That freedom is not an upgrade; it is the whole product.
Classic puts you on solid local boats and well-kept hotels. Signature moves you into boutique stays and quieter corners. Luxury means a premium phinisi with ensuite cabins, a chef on board and the best lodges ashore. Same routes, same crews' care — you choose how softly you travel.
Our captains grew up reading these currents, and the park's rangers — who walk with you by rule at Loh Liang and Loh Buaya — know where the dragons rest on a hot morning. We work with the same people season after season, and it shows in the small calls that make a day.
From your first message to the harbour goodbye, you deal with one planner who knows your trip by heart. Permits, boats, hotels, drivers, the Wae Rebo trek — one thread, one voice, no call centre. Ask a question at night and the same person answers in the morning.
Two worlds, one trip
Most guests come for the water: dragons, Padar's saddle, the sandbar at Taka Makassar, flying foxes lifting off Kalong at dusk. But Flores rewards a few days on the road too — the caci whip-dance welcome at Melo, the canyon at Cunca Wulang, spider-web rice fields near Ruteng, and Wae Rebo's cone-roofed houses at the end of a forest trek. Drive far enough and you reach Kelimutu's three coloured crater lakes. We plan both halves as one trip.
Every trip starts with a short conversation. Send your dates, your group size and what matters most to you; we reply with a route and a personal quote, usually within a day. Guide prices are a starting point — the final quote depends on season and group.
