Soroi Leopards Lair

Soroi Leopards Lair has five cottages perched on the same hill as Soroi Lions Bluff, deep inside the LUMO Conservancy in Tsavo West. From up there the view runs out over Tsavo and the Taita Hills and, on a clear day, all the way to Mount Kilimanjaro. Each cottage is built from local materials so that it disappears into the hillside, and comes with hot and cold running water, a private bathroom with an indoor shower, and a wide veranda facing the conservancy and the sunset. Some cottages have a king-size bed, others a king-size bed plus an extra single, which suits small families. Wi-Fi and drinking water are included.

There is an open kitchen and all dietary requirements are catered for, plus laundry and in-room spa treatments. Game drives go out with the camp's guides, and there are also night drives, guided bush walks with naturalists and rangers, and a photographic hide where animals can be watched and photographed undisturbed. The LUMO Conservancy was formed from three ranches — Lualenyi, Mramba and Oza — owned by the local Taita community; the lodge is Gold Eco Rated and part of its profits go back into the conservancy, funding anti-poaching patrols and habitat restoration.
