Enkorok Mara Camp

Why it works

A place with a sense of place.

Enkorok Mara Camp sits on the edge of the Maasai Mara, where the tents open straight onto the plains and the only thing between you and the wilderness is a canvas wall. The camp has 26 spacious tents, all tastefully furnished with solid furniture and ensuite bathrooms, and each one has its own private veranda for watching the sun go down over the reserve. There are family tents with interconnecting doors for up to five, as well as double, twin, triple and single tents, and every tent has 24-hour solar-powered electricity.

Between game drives there is a swimming pool to cool off in, a spa with treatment rooms looking out over the reserve, the Tamu Tamu restaurant, and a cocktail bar for the end of the day. Dinner can be served under the open sky, surrounded by the sounds of the bush — which is the part guests tend to remember.
